Base archive node hosting for $289 a month.

A Base archive node keeps the state of every past block, not just the latest one. That means you can ask what any balance, contract value or storage slot was at any point in the chain's history. We set it up, keep it in sync and give you a private endpoint.

What you get with every Base node

A node that's only yours

No other customers on your node, so no shared limits or slowdowns.

Backup node included

A second node takes over if the main one goes down. Others charge extra for this.

Synced and updated

We handle client updates and network upgrades so your node stays in sync.

Private endpoint

Your own endpoint and key, ready to paste into your app, wallet or bot.

What archive data is, and why a normal Base node does not have it

A full node checks every block, but it throws away old state to save disk. It knows today's balances and recent history. It cannot tell you what a wallet held last year.

An archive node keeps all of that old state. Your questions about the past get answered by your own server instead of a rented one, with no rate limits and no gaps in old data.

The price of that is disk. Archive nodes are far bigger than full nodes, which is why they cost more and why most apps are better off with a full node.

Base: full node or archive node

Both read the chain and send transactions. Only the archive node answers questions about old state.

From order to synced node

  1. 01

    Order and pay

    Choose full or archive and how many months. Pay in crypto.

  2. 02

    We set it up and sync it

    We install the Base software on a dedicated server and sync it to the network. Ready within 24 hours of payment, usually sooner. Your dashboard shows the progress.

  3. 03

    Connect your app

    Copy your private endpoint and key into your app, wallet or bot.

Connect in one line

Paste your private endpoint into your code. The example uses ethers v6.

import { ethers } from "ethers";

const provider = new ethers.JsonRpcProvider(
  "https://base-3d8r.nodes.rocketrpc.com/YOUR_KEY"
);
console.log(await provider.getBlockNumber());

Who needs a Base archive node

Indexers

Read every old block, log and balance to build your own database of the chain, without a provider capping your requests.

Analytics and dashboards

Chart balances, holders and activity over time by asking for the state at any past block.

Tax and compliance tools

Look up what an address held, and when, to rebuild a full transaction history for a report or an audit.

Historical contract calls

Run a read-only call as of an old block, for example to see what a contract returned on a past date.

Base archive node questions

What is a Base archive node?

It is a Base node that keeps the state of every past block, so it can answer questions about any earlier moment in the chain, not only the latest one.

Do I need an archive node for a wallet or trading bot?

Usually not. Wallets, bots and most dApps only need current state and recent blocks, which a full node gives you for less. Choose archive when you must read old state.

How much disk does a Base archive node use?

About 4.2 TB (archive snapshot). Source: Base snapshots page, 13 October 2026. We size the server for it and manage the disk for you.

Can I start with a full node and move to archive later?

Yes. Upgrade from your dashboard and pay the difference for the rest of your term.

Does an archive node also do everything a full node does?

Yes. It reads current state and sends transactions the same way. It also keeps the old state a full node discards.

How long until my node is ready?

Ready within 24 hours of payment, usually sooner. Your dashboard shows the sync progress, and your private endpoint appears there once the node is live.
